Duncan Prahl, Senior Applied Research Scientist
Duncan Prahl is a registered architect in New York with over 25 years’ experience researching and applying a broad range of energy efficiency measures and strategies with design and construction organizations throughout the world. At BPL, Duncan manages the team working on measurement and verification of energy savings in municipal buildings within the City of New York. This includes detailed measurements and data collection at the individual component, system or whole building level and conducting pre-and post-retrofit analysis.
Prior to joining BPL, Duncan worked on a variety of research projects at IBACOS. He has proposed, won and managed millions of dollars’ worth of research and development contracts from state and federal agencies, focusing on energy efficiency, comfort, and business processes. Prior to IBACOS, Duncan owned a design-build company in Massachusetts, and managed a new construction energy conservation program for a major northeastern electric utility.
