BPL is part of the largest public city university in the country – our mission is public service. Through grants and partnerships with the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services Energy Management, NYSERDA, the CUNY School of Professional Studies, and others, BPL developed and manages three major public resources:

Field Equipment Lending Library – a free resource for City agency personnel.

Building Performance Toolkit – a joint initiative of BBL and the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute providing resources for property managers and operations staff who seek to improve the performance of their properties.

BASAT (Building Automation System Assessment Tool) – software that provides a standardized approach to evaluating existing building systems relative to desired BAS functionality and performance goals.

noBAS Building Re-tuning (BRT) User Guide – noBAS BRT is a methodology developed by BPL for conducting Building Re-tuning (BRT) without a building automation system (BAS). Built on the BRT concept from Pacific Northwest National Lab (PNNL), noBAS BRT provides guidelines for saving energy in your facility for little or no cost — and, unlike PNNL’s BRT, it does not require the building to have a BAS.
